About Krista’s Kakery

Krista’s Kakery began with me sort of puttering around in the kitchen as a child.  I was notorious for getting underfoot watching my mother and father while doing their cooking.  My mother was known for her Christmas Open Houses where she made special themed goodies every year, and is still known for her creative flair in both decorating and throwing dinner parties (being “frou-frou”, if you will).  My dad is well known for his fried chicken and home made biscuits.  Over time, I found that I inherited their love of working in the kitchen, and I fortunately also picked up some of my mothers creativity.

I’ve always loved to bake, and thought that cake decorating looked fun.  I began by making my nieces and nephew fun cakes for their birthdays.  Seeing their faces light up felt so awesome!  When I moved away from home, I missed making cakes for everyone’s birthday…so I began making cakes for co-workers’ birthdays and showers.  Watching someone’s face light up again made everything I’d been missing come back to me:  I was hooked.  Over time, people started asking me to make cakes for them…as a job.  I never thought about doing it for a living before, but it just made sense and everything began to fall into place.  Thus, Krista’s Kakery was born.

I specialize in fun and different cake designs.  I do not have a standing menu of cakes that I offer.  The pictures you see are merely what has been done in the past.  Don’t hesitate to contact me and let me know what you’re looking for!  Chances are, I know precisely how to do it…AND I do it in whatever flavors you ask for.  Your cake, your design, made exactly how YOU want it done.

Krista’s Kakery FAQ

Q – I live far away. Does Krista’s Kakery ship?
A – Yes. Unfortunately, the only thing we can ship right now is breads (like banana, pumpkin, etc.) and cookies. I don’t think any of the cakes and cupcakes will make it without looking like a hot mess!

Q – If I want something shipped, how do I pay online?
A – You can pay with check or credit card via PayPal. Please note that items do not ship until money is received.

Q – Why don’t I see any of your prices listed?
A – Because it depends on what the customer wants. Cakes are adjusted to sizes in order by the number of guests. Please feel free to email me (krista@kristaskakery.com) for a quote!

Q – If I don’t like the taste, can I return it?
A – Umm…no. Ew.

Q – Do you deliver?
A – Yes, within a sensible range. Keep in mind that I do also return home to Danville, VA, often!
